Faircount Honored By US Navy

Faircount Media Group was recently bestowed the designation of Honorary Plankowner of USS New York LPD 21 by Captain F.C. Jones, commanding officer of the newest addition to the fleet.

In times gone by sailors slept on deck, singling out a specific plank on the deck as their own personal 'quarters'. Fortunately for members of the sea services things are little more comfortable these days however the tradition of awarding Plankowner status to individuals and organizations that help with a ship's commissioning has become part of every new ship's 'birth'.

Faircount played a key role in the commissioning of USS New York by producing the official Navy League publication for the ship.
