Faircount Media Group’s publishing division is proud to announce the release of the Official Publication celebrating the launch of the first fully operational satellite in Europe's Global Navigation Satellite Sytem, Galileo.

In December this year, GIOVE-A, the first of the 30 satellites that will eventually form the Galileo constellation will be launched and the vast resources – financial, scientific & technical, and human - that have gone into the research and development phase, will begin to bear fruit, heralding a new era for global telecommunications.

Faircount's publishing division, whose publishing portfolio encompasses several other titles linked to Information & Communications Technologies (ICT), was approached to produce the Official Launch Publication by the committee comprising Neil Kinnock, Vice President, European Commission, Réne Oosterlinck, European Space Agency and Hans Peter Marchlewski, Galileo Joint Undertaking. Peter Antell, Faircount Media Group Vice President, has no doubt about Galileo's significance:

"When fully operational, Galileo will revoltionise our everyday lives - from guaranteeing the functioning of safety critical systems to landing aircraft and running trains, guiding cars, assisting explorations, synchronising financial market transactions - there appears no limit to the benefits Galileo will offer. The architects and engineers steering Galileo's development have laid out a bold vision for the future and by accepting the Galileo publishing commission, Faircount has once again demonstrated its commitment to projects at the forefront of technological advance".
