In April 2003, the world celebrated the historic culmination of one of the most important scientific projects in history: the sequencing of the human genome. In addition, April 2003 marked the 50th anniversary of another momentous achievement in biology: James Watson and Francis Crick's Nobel Prize winning description of the DNA double helix.
U.S. Public Health Service
In 2006 Faircount joined forces with the US Public Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Corps to publish a report about the agency's mission, to provide highly-trained and mobile health professionals who carry out programs to promote the health of the nation, understand and prevent disease and injury, assure safe and effective drugs and medical devices, deliver health services to Federal beneficiaries, and furnish health expertise in time of war or other national or international emergencies.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) operates the largest direct health care delivery system in the country with supporting medical research. VA also administers veterans benefits including monthly disability payments, education assistance, life insurance, home loans, and vocational rehabilitation and employment services. Europe's Guiding Star
Galileo is Europe's initiative for a state-of-the-art global navigation satellite system, providing a highly accurate, global positioning service under civilian control. While providing autonomous navigation and positioning services, Galileo will at the same time be interoperable with GPS and GLONASS, the two other global satellite navigation systems. The fully deployed Galileo system will consist of 30 satellites and the associated ground infrastructure.
American Academy of Nurse Practitioners 25th Anniversary
The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) was formed in 1985 to provide NPs with a unified way to network and advocate for NP issues and was the first national organization created for nurse practitioners of all specialities. AANP will mark its quarter century with a special anniversary publication for its members.
