Aspen, Co. 9 April 2008 – The Aspen Music Festival and School and Gramophone have announced plans to cooperate in a project aimed at illuminating the festival’s 2008 season with sophisticated and informed articles on the festival’s programming, artists, and rich history. Under the terms of the agreement, the Aspen Music Festival and School has licensed Gramophone to produce an Aspen Music Festival and School special publication, which the festival’s organizers will mail directly to festival patrons and distribute to festival-goers throughout the 9-week season. For its part, Gramophone will produce the content of the special publication at its signature quality and depth.
Gramophone magazine has been at the forefront of reporting the latest developments in classical music since 1923 and is acknowledged for its peerless - and fearless – reviews, through to penetrating interviews with the world's leading classical music artists. Haymarket, the magazine’s UK based publisher, is keen to build on Gramophone’s presence in the North American market (it already has a bespoke North America edition of the magazine) and has partnered with the US division of Faircount Media Group, to help it attain that goal. Faircount will provide US marketing and advertising sales expertise and handle distribution.
